We Are Still Alive...

So I noticed that the last time I posted was in January. Pretty lame, I know. So here is what we’ve been up to for the last 8 months…

January:

We packed up and left Atlanta. We moved across the country yet again, to Peoria, Illinois. Five states in five years. When we left, it was something like 70 degrees outside. You will see why I told you this information in a few moments.

February:

We moved into our apartment one hour before a blizzard hit. It dumped like 20 inches in less than 18 hours or something insane like that. We (and by we I mean I) had the foresight to get a few groceries the night before. But we failed to get a shower curtain. That had to wait until two days later when we were able to get out of our apartment and drive to the store.

Richard started work at Caterpillar.

We got back into the swing of living in snow.

My parents came to visit us on their way to their mission in New Jersey.

I was able to go to the Nauvoo Temple for the first time. So pretty!

March:

Our water heater broke and was not fixed for a week. It was a very cold week.

I got a job working with a family in our ward, helping out with their 3 year old son that has autism.

We both got callings. Richard was called once again as the Ward Mission Leader and I was called as the Laurel Adviser for the Young Women.

We were able to go to the Nauvoo Temple together for the first time.

April:

I went to a lot of doctor appointments.

I turned 26.

Richard loves his job.

May:

More doctor appointments…

Both working…

A friend of Richard’s moved in with us for the summer to do an internship at CAT.

We planted a deck garden.

June:

We went to Utah for our friend’s wedding. Had fun seeing our brothers and their families.

We saw a lot of corn growing. I mean, seriously, a ton of corn.

Doctor appointments...

Working…

July:

We went to Florida for a week with Richard’s family. We loved being with everyone!

Work…

We ate from our garden! Um, you can just call me the urban gardener.

Richard started a new rotation at work.

We went to the Nauvoo Pageant and Carthage Jail.

Add ImageAugust:

I ran a 5K.

I went to Girls Camp for the whole week and survived. If there was a certification for talking about boys non-stop for an entire week those girls earned it.

Our roommate moved back to Atlanta and we had our apartment to ourselves again!

Richard got released as the Ward Mission Leader and was called as the Assistant Scout Master. He absolutely loves it, in case you had any doubts.

I made my first quilt top. Not great, but I made it so that counts for something right?

Doctor appointments…work…

September:

We went camping for Labor Day, on the last 2 hot days of the summer. But we still had fun!

Busy, busy busy…and not sure what we have been doing?

Doctor appointments and getting my blood drawn every other day! Bah!!!

Richard got to drive a bunch of CAT equipment and was the happiest and most excited I have probably ever seen him, including the day we were married.

The weather finally started cooling off and we are slowly preparing ourselves for the winter ahead of us.

So that basically sums up our life since we moved to Peoria. Nothing very exciting, thus the lack of posts. I will try to be better, but when you lead such an exciting life like us, you don't want to go around bragging, right? Nobody likes a show-off!
